150325-N-OV358-132 ARABIAN GULF (March 25, 2015) - Chief Information Systems Technician David Marez, assigned to Commander, Task Group 56.1 (CGT 56.1) explains to Rear Adm. Russell Allen, commander, Naval Mine and Anti-submarine Warfare Command the capabilities of the Mark 18 MOD 2 unmanned underwater vehicle during a distinguished visitor embark on board the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Cardigan Bay (E3009). Cardigan Bay and CTG 56.1 are currently participating in the 2015 mine countermeasure exercise Artemis Trident. Artemis Trident is an international exercise, which focuses on the protection of sea-lanes and the free travel of international commerce. CTG 56.1 conducts mine countermeasures, explosive ordnance disposal, salvage diving, and force protection operations throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
