150605-N-PK884-001 YORKTOWN, Va. (June 5, 2015) The Tall Ship L’Hermione, a replica of the French frigate that brought the Marquis de Lafayette to Yorktown in 1781 to support General George Washington at the siege of Yorktown, arrived at its first port-of-call, June 5, at the Riverwalk in Historic Yorktown. More than 1,000, including dignitaries and senior military representatives from both the United States and France, were on hand to greet the ship and its crew after completing their trans-Atlantic crossing.
