Spc. James R. Blankenship, 26, an infantryman for O Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment based in Vilseck, Germany, takes a field bath after working through the night's training mission at the Babadag Training Area in eastern Romania, Sept. 25. When Blankenship's Stryker was notionally mortared during the training scenario, he and his fellow infantrymen dismounted and traversed the fields by foot before waiting for the Romanian Land Forces' opposing effort to cross their lanes of fire. American and Romanian troops trained together as part of Joint Task Force-East's third annual exercise to help build better interoperability capabilities.
