SAN DIEGO (Aug. 11, 2015) – Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class Nicholus Thompson, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), trouble shoots a radar transponder. America is currently undergoing a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design.
