150928-N-DH124-097 FORT HUNTER LIGGETT (Sept. 28, 2015)- Builder Constructionman Avery Pedersen, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, shovels out a pit at the Forward Operating Base, in Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., during NMCB 4’s 2015 Field Training Exercise (FTX), Sept. 28. The training is designed to exercise all aspects of the battalion’s defensive and operational capabilities from manning a fighting position on the company lines, to reacting to chemical warfare threats and improvised explosive devices.
