SAN DIEGO (Oct. 14, 2015) Vice Adm. Tom Rowden, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (SURFPAC), right, presents the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Safety Award to Cmdr. Michael P. Desmond, executive officer, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Crew 103. The award was awarded for the SURFPAC, littoral combat warfare category, fiscal year 2014, and recognized the crew’s outstanding contributions to fleet readiness, efficiency, and economical use of resources through safety.
