Drill instructors of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, correct a recruit for not following directions during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 10. To ensure their safety and proper technique, drill instructors walk around and monitor the recruits while they train, and the recruits can ask the drill instructors if they need assistance in understanding execution. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
