(Feb. 23, 2016) International students train as part of the Outboard Motor Maintenance and Overhaul (OBM) course at Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS). The course provides students the training necessary to maintain, repair and extend the service lifecycle of an outboard motor engine. Training consists of internal combustion theory, characteristics, operating principles, lubrication, precision measuring tools, and troubleshooting with diagnostic computers accomplished through the full disassembly and reassembly of the gear case and power head on a functional engine. NAVSCIATTS is U.S. Special Operations Command’s International Center specializing in mobile and in-resident training across the tactical, operational and strategic spectra strengthening partner nation capabilities and capacity.
