A Philippine navy SEAL practices treating an open chest wound during a field medical exercise at Naval Base Cavite. Members of Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines and armed forces of the Philippines Naval Special Operations Group partnered for a month-long course teaching how to treat wounded troops on the battlefield. During the course, students learned how to properly treat a variety of combat-related injuries, such as applying a tourniquet to stop bleeding, ways to open a patient's airway, treatment for a collapsed lung and how to treat patients for shock.
