160722-M-TM809-006 DA NANG, Vietnam (July 22, 2016) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Tessa Ballas, from Bremerton, Washington, and Aircrewman (helicopter) 1st Class Wesley Nordli, from Anaheim, California, both assigned to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), demonstrate cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques to Vietnamese lifeguards at the Da Nang beach front during a Pacific Partnership 2016 lifeguard training course. During the event, Pacific Partnership personnel exchanged water survival techniques with Vietnamese lifeguards. During Pacific Partnership, partner nations are working side-by-side with local organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
