Ashley Gripe, physical therapist, all assigned to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), take questions from the audience during a panel moderated by Cmdr. Peter Shumaker at the Pacific Partnership 2016 Restorative Medicine Summit in Da Nang. Pacific Partnership held the summit to facilitate discussion and learning among local Vietnamese medical professionals and Pacific Partnership team members. Mercy is joined in Da Nang by JS Shimokita (LST-4002) and Vietnam People's Navy ship Khánh Hóa. Partner nations are working work side-by-side with local organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
