MOTUTAPU ISLAND, Tonga — U.S. Marine infantrymen, combat engineers and Tongan soldiers sprint toward an obstacle to prepare a demolition charge to clear a path, July 27, 2016, on Motutapu Island, Tonga, as part of a multi-national, bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and relations. The service members combined skills practiced during the exercise into a culminating range such as beach insertion, buddy rushing, demolition and high explosive exploitation. The infantrymen and engineers are with Task Force Koa Moana. The infantrymen are originally assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
