Naval Air Station Sigonella's Fire and Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Shane Byrne passes up the rigging to another team member during a high angle rope rescue mission in response to a simulated building collapse. During a similar emergency all of the victims will be put into a harness and lowered via the high angle rope rescue. The collapsed building marked the beginning of Exercise Reliant Star, a three-day exercise taking place on all Commander Navy Europe installations. The purpose of the exercise is to test each base's emergency response teams. (U.S. Navy photo by Petty Officer 2nd Class Gary A. Prill)
