A drill instructor from Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, inspects a recruit’s weapon during the senior drill instructor inspection, Sept. 26. During the inspection, recruits were asked questions on topics including their squad bay, uniforms and Marine Corps knowledge. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Dec. 2.
