SINGAPORE (Nov. 21, 2016) Lt. Cmdr. Aaron Carlton, from Lakewood, Calif., a chaplain assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), helps a student with her work at the Genesis School for Special Education during a community relations event in Singapore. Makin Island and embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted the event to offer Sailors and Marines the opportunity to experience Singapore’s culture while giving back to the local community.
