TRINCOMALEE, Sri Lanka (Nov. 23, 2016) Cpl. Zachary Hummel, a Reconnaissance Marine with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, demonstrates how to slide down a fast rope to Sri Lankan Special Boat Squadron Sailors during a Theater Security Cooperation training exercise at Sri Lanka Naval Base, Trincomalee, Nov. 23, 2016. During this training event, the Maritime Raid Force Marines demonstrated how to grasp the rope and how to come to a complete stop while sliding down the rope. The 11th MEU, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet’s area of responsibility in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
