Amphibious assault vehicles with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion ‘splash’ into the ocean from the well deck of USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) Dec. 2, 2016 during Amphibious Ready Group Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise. Twelve AAVs transported approximately 200 Marines with Kilo Co., 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment to Onslow Beach, North Carolina where the infantrymen practiced seizing the terrain.
