A SH-60 Sea Hawk hovers above a small attack boat near USS Carter Hall (LSD-50), during a strait passage drill at sea Dec. 13, 2016 as part of Amphibious Ready Group Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise or ARGMEUEX. The simulated strait passage pitted the ARG against a myriad of potential real-world threats such as small attack boats with armed personnel and fast moving aircraft overhead harassing the three U.S. Navy vessels. ARGMEUEX is a three-week training evolution intended to build upon pervious relationships, thereby enhancing Navy and Marine Corps interoperability and amphibious warfare capabilities to tackle a wide range of operations.
