U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec.10, 2016) A U.S. Marine with Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, dons and clears his gas mask during a patrol as part of Exercise Alligator Dagger, Dec. 10. During the patrol, the Marines refamiliarized themselves with fundamental tactical skills like quickly employing the use of their gas masks to repel a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threat. Exercise Alligator Dagger sustains the Navy-Marine Corps team’s ability to be a flexible, adaptable and persistent force through conducting complex amphibious operations originating from U.S. warships that project power ashore or increase the safety of the seas.
