Sgts. Christine See (left) and Donna Cheek, F Co. 131st Aviation, answered the call to duty without hesitation when their unit was deployed last March for Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. Both women left behind family and friends but said they feel the sacrifice is worth it to keep their families safe. See is a production control specialist who manages the flow of maintenance for the 131st and Cheek is a supply technician. The 131st is responsible for repairing, maintaining and flying 14 Chinooks. The helicopters, located at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan, are heavily depended on by troops at forward operating bases for transport and supplies.
