172024-N-LK571-036 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Feb. 24, 2017) The Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) pulls alongside the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in preparation for a replenishment-at-sea. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet.
