Gunnery Sgt. Arvin L. Manning, staff noncommissioned officer in charge of 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s law enforcement detachment, exposes Ensign JP Morillo to oleoresin capsicum spray as he executes a confidence course during master to arms training aboard USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) March 9, 2017. The course is set to enhance a Sailor’s ability to react to violent situations while affected by O.C. The 24th MEU is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
