PACIFIC OCEAN (Mar. 15, 2017) Capt. Kevin P. Lenox, commanding officer of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), receives the flag from Religious Program Specialist Seaman Apprentice Jackson Hamstra, a navtive of Tucson, Ariz., during a burial at sea ceremony. Nimitz committed 16 Sailors, one soldier and one civilian during the first burial at sea ceremony held on board in more than 2 years. Nimitz is currently underway to conduct Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) in preparation for an upcoming 2017 deployment.
