PACIFIC OCEAN, Calif., – Marines and Sailors with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit gather around Col. Joseph Clearfield, the commanding officer of the 15th MEU, as he spoke about the importance of PHIBRON-MEU Integration and the MEU’s mission during their deployment later this year, April 7, 2017. This first at-sea exercise provides the Marines the opportunity to practice integrating with their Navy counterparts to form an efficient team capable of accomplishing a range of missions around the globe. This Navy-Marine Corps team supports combatant commanders in maintaining regional maritime security and stability while providing offshore options to deter, influence and win in an era of uncertainty.
