FORWARD OPERATING BASE GERBER, Kuwait (April 15, 2017)— U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Dylan Emmett of Lacey Township, New Jersey, a machine gun team leader assigned to Kilo Co., 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), looks back at his squad while on a contact patrol during forward operating base (FOB) drills outside FOB Gerber, April 15. The Marines are in Kuwait for a sustainment training evolution. The 24th MEU, part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
