An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Black Knights of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 154 launches off a waist catapult of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan's steam-powered catapults launch Super Hornets off the flight deck in less than two seconds, with the Super Hornets reaching speeds of more than 170 miles per hour before launch.
