170831-N-KW492-129 NORFOLK, Va. (August 31, 2017) Master Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate William Wallace, from Austin, Texas, raises the Texas flag on the mast of the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) in honor of those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Kearsarge is on-loading personnel, equipment and supplies in preparation to assist with disaster relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey formed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in southeastern Texas, bringing record flooding and destruction to the area.
