Morgan Busby, a research fisheries biologist with the National Oceanic an Atmospheric Administration, hands Royhon Agostine a collection of plankton, and other sea life, that was collected during research operations aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Healy while in the Arctic, Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

After the plankton are collected using a bongo net tow, Busby preserves two of the four net collects in jars using a sea water, formaldehyde and sodium borate solution.
