Following the earthquake and tsunami that hit the island nation, March 11, hundreds of military family members from Yokota voluntarily relocated to the United States after radiation from crippled Japanese nuclear energy plants was detected in some areas.
The evacuation effort was part of Operation Pacific Passage.
