From left to right, Spc. Eric Wiederholt, Spc. Randy Birchfield, and Spc. Sean Jones, all of the 815th Engineer Company, Det. 2, based in Lisbon, N.D., kneel in the rain on a pile of flood-fighting sandbags which are loaded in a North Dakota National Guard dump truck, April 10, as they are lead into a rural residence surrounded by flood water, by a farmer in his tractor, with a quick response force team a few miles west of West Fargo, N.D. The dump truck is one of the few vehicles that can make it through the, nearly two miles of flooded roadway, to bring sandbags for the farmstead surrounded by flood water. About 500 Guardsmen are currently conducting flood operations in North Dakota, with the vast majority in Cass County.
