Spc. Tom May, of the 815th Engineer Company, Det. 2, based in Lisbon, N.D., hands sandbags to rural resident Roger Larsen, April 10, as Larsen places the sandbags onto a temporary ring-dike flood barrier around his family farmstead home west of West Fargo, N.D. The farmstead is surrounded by miles of flood water and beginning to get close to the house. The Soldier is a members of a North Dakota National Guard quick response force team that has been sent to the rural home by the Cass County tactical operations center. About 500 Guardsmen are currently conducting flood operations in North Dakota, with the vast majority in Cass County.
