Sgt. Nathan Bratlie, left, and Spc. Randy Birchfield, both of the 815th Engineer Company, Det. 2, based in Lisbon, N.D., fill sandbags to be used for a temporary, ring-dike flood levee around a rural home west of West Fargo, N.D., which has been surrounded by miles of flood water. The soldiers are members of a North Dakota National Guard quick response force team that has been sent to the rural home by the Cass County tactical operations center. About 500 Guardsmen are currently conducting flood operations in North Dakota, with the vast majority in Cass County.
