All-American UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter flies toward snow-capped Pikes Peak after taking off from a landing zone approximately 12,200 feet above sea level in the mountains just west of Fort Carson, Colo., April 12. As the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade prepares to deploy to Afghanistan late this summer, the brigade began its High Altitude Mountain Environmental Training in early April at Fort Carson's Butts Army Airfield and will continue the training until mid June. Most of the landing zones pilots are using to practice in this area are at the same altitude or above the highest landing zones they will be using during the deployment.
