    82nd Combat Aviation Brigade

Chief Warrant Officer Carlos Acevedo instructs Lt. Col. Landy Dunham, the commanding officer for Task Force Talon and the 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, as he takes off from a landing zone approximately 12,200 feet above sea level with his UH-60L Command and Control Black Hawk helicopter in the mountains just west of Fort Carson, Colo., April 12. As the 82nd CAB prepares to deploy to Afghanistan late this summer, the brigade began its high altitude mountain environmental training in early April at Fort Carson's Butts Army Airfield and will continue the training until mid June. Most of the landing zones pilots are using to practice in this area are at the same altitude or above the highest landing zones they will be using during the deployment. Acevedo, a Palm Bay, Fla., native, serves as a UH-60 Black Hawk instructor pilot and the standardization officer with Task Force Talon, 3-82 GSAB.
