Staff Sgt. Aaron Burrows gathers the hoist line from an HH-60M MEDEVAC Black Hawk helicopter at Fort Carson, Colo., April 13, as his MEDEVAC crew responds to a simulated medical evacuation scenario. As the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade prepares to deploy to Afghanistan late this summer, the brigade began its High Altitude Mountain Environmental Training in early April at Fort Carson's Butts Army Airfield and will continue the training until mid June. The increased weight of the new MEDEVAC aircraft adds to the challenges brought on by flying at higher altitudes. Burrows, of Pampa, Texas, serves as a flight medic with Company C, Task Force Talon, 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 82nd CAB.
