Simulated patients are hoisted onto an HH-60M MEDEVAC Black Hawk helicopter at Fort Carson, Colo., April 13, as the on-call medevac crew from Company C, Task Force Talon and 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, responds to a simulated medical evacuation scenario. As the 82nd CAB prepares to deploy to Afghanistan late this summer, the brigade began its high altitude mountain environmental Training in early April at Fort Carson's Butts Army Airfield and will continue the training until mid June. The increased weight of the new medevac aircraft adds to the challenges brought on by flying at higher altitudes.
