Special Reaction Team Marines: SESAMS Tactic Based Training Range

CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan – Cpl. Giomar Medero conducts a preparatory patrol Nov. 22 before a Special Reaction Team Special Effects Small Arms Marking System Tactic Based Training range at Combat Town, Okinawa, Japan. SRT Marines act as the 911 response force across Okinawa, handling high risk situations which basically trained military policeman may not be equipped to do. SRT practiced weapons handling and employment of firearms while moving through and clearing out buildings. SESAM rounds have plastic paste-filled tips that leave a mark where they hit, allowing SRT Marines and their supervisors to track their accuracy. Medero is a member of SRT with the Provost Marshal’s Office, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan.
