SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii – Spc. Logan Mattix, a CH-47 Chinook crew chief with the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, watches from the window December 12, as his aircraft takes off to the Kahuku Training Area to perform a low cost low altitude (LCLA) air delivery exercise. The LCLA delivery method is used to resupply on-ground troops at less of cost and higher accuracy than a high altitude airdrop making it the preferred method for light-weight supplies.
