SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii – Spc. Logan Mattix, a CH-47 Chinook crew chief with the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, enjoys the view of the Hawaiian mountain ranges during his flight back to Schofield Barracks December 12, after a successful low cost low altitude (LCLA) air delivery exercise with the 25th Sustainment Brigade at the Kahuku Training Area. The LCLA delivery method is used to resupply on-ground troops at less of cost and higher accuracy than a high altitude airdrop making it the preferred method for light-weight supplies.
