MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – A Soldier with the Western Army Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self Defense Force, listens as a U.S. Marine with 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion, describes the scheme of maneuver the Soldiers and Marines will use when conducting amphibious training in the Amphibious Assault vehicles during exercise Iron Fist 2018 at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Jan. 18. Exercise Iron Fist brings together U.S. Marines and Soldiers from the JGSDF to improve their bilateral planning, communicating, and conducting of combined amphibious operations.
