Peter Gibson (center), zone engineer for debris management in the San Juan, Puerto Rico metro area shows Col. David Hibner (right), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) G3, and Mr. Charles "Ray" Alexander, Chief, USACE Interagency and International Services (left), mulching operations at the Los Alamos vegetation debris site located in a San Juan suburb. Some vegetation debris generated by hurricanes Maria and Irma is mulched so that it can be distributed for use by Puerto Rico's municipalities for landscaping or beneficially used at the island's landfills as topcover.

Gibson is deployed in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency-led federal response and recovery activities in Puerto Rico following the storms. When not deployed he works as a remediation biologist for the Seattle District.
