MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Col. Fridrik Fridriksson, commanding officer, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit observes U.S. Marines, with 1st Air Naval Gun Liaison Company, conduct close air support on San Clemente Island during exercise Iron Fist 2018, Feb. 1. Exercise Iron Fist brings together U.S. Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and soldiers from the JGSDF, Western Army Infantry Regiment, to improve their bilateral planning, communicating, and conducting of combined amphibious operations.
