Rows of crosses mark 2,289 graves on 42 acres of land at the Aisne-Marne Cemetery and Memorial in Aisne, France. The official military cemetery is located at the foot of the village of Belleau, which Marines successfully took over from the Germans in World War I, stopping their advancement into Paris.
