180402-N-PH222-0580 PACIFIC OCEAN (April 2, 2018) Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Francis Moesch, from Buffalo N.Y., assigned to Beach Master Unit (BMU) 1, stands by to direct a landing craft air cushion (LCAC), attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, embarked in San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Anchorage is underway with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) for an amphibious squadron and MEU integration (PMINT) exercise. PMINT is a training evolution between Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th MEU, which allows Sailors and Marines to train as a cohesive unit in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
