180402-N-PH222-0131 PACIFIC OCEAN (April 2, 2018) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Oscar Hernandez, from La Cresenta, Calif., assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, monitors the lowering of the aft ramp on a landing craft air cushion (LCAC). ACU 5 is embarked in San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage which is underway with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) for an amphibious squadron and MEU integration (PMINT) exercise. PMINT is a training evolution between Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th MEU, which allows Sailors and Marines to train as a cohesive unit in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
