Alexander McDowell, a human intelligence collector with Company B, 109th Military Intelligence Battalion, calls for a role-playing sniper to show and unarm himself Aug. 10 during a convoy counter-improvised explosive device range on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., that was part of a 10-day field training exercise to prepare the battalion for its upcoming deployment within the next year. Shannon Baird, a performance enhancement specialist with the Comprehensive Soldier Fitness-Performance and Resilience Enhancement Program who has worked for the past six months with B Company to assist in increasing the performance of its soldiers and their methods “ both mentally and physically" for preparing themselves for any task, spent each day in the field with the company prepping it for each training task the night before.
