Col. Russell C. Burton, commanding officer, Marine Corps Air Station New River, and Melissa Attlee, MCAS New River Unit Energy Manager Program representative, present a $4,000 check to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Marine Unit New RIver for receiving the Energy Efficiency Initiative award from MCAS New River’s UEMP, July 18. In April 2017, MCAS New River started the Initiative to have Marines use only the energy they need to accomplish the mission, and now the UEMP is awarding units that conserve the most energy – the money CNATT MARU received will go toward the unit’s Family Readiness Officers’ funds to improve morale and troop welfare.
