Burton, commanding officer for MCAS New River awarded a $4,000 check to on behalf of the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit New River, July 18, for saving the most energy on MCAS New River. In April 2017, MCAS New River started the MCAS New River Energy Efficiency Initiative to have Marines only use the energy they need to accomplish the mission, and now the Unit Energy Manager Program is awarding units that conserve the most energy.
