NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 30, 2018) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Jacob Astacio, from New York, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) air department, receives his certificate of appointment to the rank of petty officer second class from Capt. Richard McCormack, Ford’s commanding officer. Astacio was promoted following his selection for the Meritorious Advancement Program.
