NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 30, 2018) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Fuel) 2nd Class Chanissia Harrien, from Garland, Texas, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) air department, receives her certificate of appointment to the rank of petty officer second class from Capt. Richard McCormack, Ford’s commanding officer. Harrien was promoted following her selection for the Meritorious Advancement Program.
